# What You Need:

→ Patties

01 - 1.1 lb (500 g) ground beef
02 - 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
03 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
04 - 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
05 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

→ Assembly

06 - 4 burger buns, split
07 - 1/2 cup (120 ml) pizza sauce
08 - 1 cup (100 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
09 - 1.5 oz (40 g) pepperoni slices
10 - 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
11 - 1 small bell pepper, thinly sliced
12 - 1 tablespoon olive oil

→ Optional Toppings

13 - Fresh basil leaves
14 - Red chili flakes
15 - Extra pizza sauce for dipping

# How To Make It:

01 - In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until evenly incorporated, then shape the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.
02 - Heat olive oil in a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Sear the patties for 4 to 5 minutes per side, or until cooked through and no longer pink in the center.
03 - Preheat the oven broiler to high. Place the burger bun bottoms cut-side up on a baking sheet.
04 - Spread 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce onto each bun bottom. Place one cooked patty on top of each sauced bun.
05 - Spoon another tablespoon of pizza sauce over each patty. Layer on the shredded mozzarella cheese, pepperoni slices, sliced red onion, and sliced bell pepper.
06 - Place the baking sheet under the broiler for 1 to 2 minutes, watching closely, until the cheese is bubbly and fully melted.
07 - Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh basil leaves or red chili flakes if desired. Cap each with the top bun half and serve immediately with extra pizza sauce on the side for dipping.

# Helpful Hints:

01 -
  • That impossible choice between burger night and pizza night vanishes entirely.
  • The broiler melts the mozzarella into stretchy golden pools that pull exactly like your favorite slice.
  • Cleanup is shockingly fast since everything cooks in one pan and one baking sheet.
02 -
  • The broiler can torch your buns in under thirty seconds if you leave the door closed, always keep the oven cracked and your eyes on it.
  • Letting the patties rest for two minutes after searing keeps the juices inside instead of running out and soaking the buns.
03 -
  • Shred your own mozzarella from a block instead of buying pre shredded, the anti caking agents on bagged cheese prevent it from melting smoothly.
  • Arrange the pepperoni under the cheese layer if you prefer it soft and crispy, or on top if you want those irresistible cupped edges that hold little pools of spicy oil.
