01 - Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
02 - In a large mixing bowl, mash the bananas until smooth. Add the melted butter and mix until well combined.
03 - Whisk in the eggs, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until the mixture is uniform and smooth.
04 - Sprinkle the flour, baking soda, and salt over the wet mixture. Gently fold together with a spatula until just combined; do not overmix.
05 - Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and chopped nuts, if using, until evenly distributed.
06 - Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Smooth the top with a spatula and sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top if desired.
07 - Bake for 50 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs attached.
