Mint Oreo Truffles (Printable Version)

Bite-sized mint Oreo truffles with cream cheese and dark chocolate coating

# What You Need:

→ Truffles

01 - 36 mint-flavored Oreo cookies
02 - 8 oz cream cheese, softened

→ Coating

03 - 12 oz dark chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate, chopped

→ Garnish (optional)

04 - 2-3 mint Oreo cookies, finely crushed
05 - 1 tbsp white chocolate, melted for drizzling

# How To Make It:

01 - Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
02 - Place mint Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until fine crumbs form. Reserve 2 tablespoons of crumbs for garnish if desired.
03 - Add softened cream cheese to the crumbs. Pulse until fully combined into a thick, uniform dough.
04 - Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheet.
05 - Freeze the balls for 30 minutes to firm up before coating.
06 - Melt chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
07 - Using forks, dip each chilled truffle into melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off. Return to baking sheet.
08 - Immediately sprinkle with reserved crushed cookies or drizzle with melted white chocolate if desired.
09 - Refrigerate truffles for at least 30 minutes until chocolate is completely set.
10 - Serve chilled or at room temperature.

# Helpful Hints:

01 -
  • They look like you spent hours but come together in under 30 minutes of active time
  • The combination of cool mint filling and dark chocolate coating is absolutely addictive
02 -
  • Getting the truffle centers fully frozen before dipping is non negotiable or the chocolate coating will slide right off in patches
  • If your chocolate suddenly turns thick and grainy while melting add a teaspoon of coconut oil and stir gently to bring it back
03 -
  • Work quickly when dipping because warmth from your hands and room temperature will start softening the centers
  • Tap the fork gently against the bowl edge to remove excess chocolate instead of shaking which can send truffles flying across the kitchen
