Honey Garlic Chicken (Printable Version)

Tender chicken thighs glazed in honey garlic sauce, finished with sesame and scallions. Ready in 35 minutes.

# What You Need:

→ Chicken

01 - 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs (about 1.1 lb)
02 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
03 - 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
04 - 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

→ Sauce

05 - 1/3 cup honey
06 - 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
07 - 4 garlic cloves, minced
08 - 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
09 - 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated (optional)

→ Cooking

10 - 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
11 - 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, for garnish
12 - 2 green onions, sliced, for garnish

# How To Make It:

01 - Pat chicken thighs dry. Season on both sides with salt and black pepper. Lightly coat each piece with flour, tapping off excess.
02 - Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Lay chicken thighs in the skillet and cook for 5 to 6 minutes per side, until golden and thoroughly cooked. Transfer chicken to a plate and set aside.
03 - In a mixing bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, and ginger until smooth.
04 - Pour the prepared sauce into the skillet, scraping up any browned bits. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until slightly thickened.
05 - Return chicken thighs to the skillet. Spoon sauce over chicken and simmer for 3 to 5 minutes, turning occasionally, until well glazed and heated through.
06 - Arrange chicken on a serving platter. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve immediately.

# Helpful Hints:

01 -
  • The sauce clings to every bite—salty, sweet, used-to-be-a-secretly-favorite-takeout flavor you can whip up at home.
  • Chicken thighs become silky and sticky in just one pan, perfect for a no-fuss weeknight victory.
02 -
  • If you rush browning the chicken, you'll miss out on the crackly bits that make the sauce coat properly.
  • Adding ginger was a happy accident—now I never skip it for that extra zip.
03 -
  • If your pan is crowded, brown the chicken in batches so you get that sear, not steam.
  • Swirl in a drizzle of honey at the end for an irresistibly glossy finish.
