Grape Agua Fresca (Printable Version)

A vibrant Mexican drink blending fresh grapes with lime and sugar for a cooling beverage perfect for warm days.

# What You Need:

→ Fruit

01 - 3 cups seedless red or green grapes, washed

→ Liquids and Sweeteners

02 - 3 cups cold water
03 - 2–3 tablespoons sugar (to taste)
04 - 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice

→ Serving

05 - Ice cubes, for serving
06 - Fresh mint leaves or extra grapes, for garnish (optional)

# How To Make It:

01 - Combine grapes, water, sugar, and lime juice in a blender. Process on high speed until completely smooth and frothy.
02 - Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a pitcher, pressing firmly to extract all liquid and remove skins and pulp.
03 - Taste the agua fresca and add additional sugar if needed, stirring until fully dissolved.
04 - Pour over ice cubes in glasses. Garnish with fresh mint leaves or additional whole grapes if desired. Serve chilled.

# Helpful Hints:

01 -
  • It comes together in literally ten minutes but tastes like something you'd wait hours for at a fancy juice bar
  • The frothiness from blending gives it this gorgeous texture that makes even a regular Tuesday afternoon feel special
02 -
  • Don't skip the straining step, or you'll end up with grainy bits that settle at the bottom of your glass
  • The longer you blend, the frothier it gets, which I actually prefer for that luxurious texture
03 -
  • Add a pinch of salt if you're using particularly sweet grapes, it brings out the natural flavors
  • Mix red and green grapes for the most complex flavor profile and beautiful color
